Blake Griffin made his Brooklyn Nets debut
Lebron James suffered an injury that could have him out for some time.

2020-21 NBA Rookies
LaMelo Ball (Charlotte Hornets) –
Unfortunately for the star rookie guard, Ball hurt his wrist
over the weekend and sources indicate that he may be out for the rest of the year. Ball finishes
his great rookie season with 15.9 PPG, 5.9 RPG, and 6.1 APG.
Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves) –
Edwards became the third youngest player in
NBA history to score 40 points in a game by scoring a career high 42 points in a win over the
Phoenix Suns.

Tyrese Haliburton (Sacramento Kings) –
With Ball out, Haliburton could push up for the Rookie
of the Year award if he continues his play like he has all season. The rookie guard is currently top
five in points (12.4) and assists (5.1) per game.

Immanuel Quickley (New York Knicks)
– Quickley made a case for himself to be kept in the
starting line over the last week. In his 3 starts, Quickley averaged 14.7 points per game.

Saddiq Bey (Detroit Pistons)
– the rookie forward has quietly had a good rookie season for the
Pistons as they look to rebuild with a younger roster. Bey is shooting 38.6% from the 3 point line
and is second among rookies in 3-pointers made.

Jae’Sean Tate – (Houston Rockets)
– The undrafted rookie scored a career high 25 points last
week and continues to be a bright spot for the Rockets.
James Wiseman (Golden State Warriors)
– The rookie center has been inactive due to Covid
Safety Protocol.
Under the radar rookies
Paul Reed (Philadelphia 76ers) –
The 2
nd
round pick out of DePaul made the most of his
opportunity when he was sent down the G-League. The rookie power forward averaged 22.3
points /11.8 rebounds and was named G-League MVP and Rookie of the Year. His playing time in
the NBA may be limited with his return to the 76ers with the depth they have but look for Reed
to continue to develop.
Nathan Knight (Atlanta Hawks) –
The undrafted rookie made the most of his opportunity to get
minutes when teammate Clint Capela went down for a few games. Coming off the bench, Knight
scored 16 and 15 points in back-to-back games.
Young rising stars
Jordan Poole (Golden State Warriors) –
Since returning from the G-League, Poole has been on
fire averaging 20.9 points per game in the last 7 games since his return. Poole also started the
last 2 games with Stephen Curry out and scored 25 and 26 points in back-to-back games.
